Obama:The Tax-Cut Temptation

Yet again, we see another politician succumbing to the temptation of cutting taxes in order to gain a positive light from the people. Tax cuts may be all well and good, and yes everybody claims that they know how to spend their money better than their government, but the fact remains that people do not tend to buy things that are made in their own country in North America, because it is more expensive to buy local 99% of the time. Sure, it’s easy for me to say when I don’t have my own family to look after, so I don’t really need tax-cuts, but I would rather have an economy that is sputtering on, then one that is inevitably crashing, due to the constant outward flow of money from the country. It is the same in the United States as it is here; there is a need for inward spending, and the only thing that can ensure that will happen is for the government to do the spending. The government can spend money intelligently; it is possible! Even if programs are started that are not all that useful, they will be employing local people, thus pumping money into the local areas.
